{"id":93,"date":"2009-12-29T12:21:51","date_gmt":"2009-12-29T20:21:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gknerd.com\/?p=93"},"modified":"2009-12-29T12:21:51","modified_gmt":"2009-12-29T20:21:51","slug":"wool-has-many-fine-properties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gknerd.com\/?p=93","title":{"rendered":"Wool Has Many Fine Properties&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;but traction really ain&#8217;t one of them.<\/p>\n<p>Ouch.<\/p>\n<p>This weekend, I was up at my parents&#8217; house where they have hardwood just about everywhere.\u00a0 I was also being a bit silly and stole The Blanket Theif&#8217;s bandana and was running around the house with it.\u00a0 I was also wearing these socks:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-95\" title=\"DSCN9407\" src=\"http:\/\/gknerd.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/DSCN9407-525x393.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN9407\" width=\"473\" height=\"354\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While running, I took a sharp turn &#8211; or, rather, I <em>tried<\/em> to take a sharp turn, but while my body faced the right direction my momentum couldn&#8217;t be counteracted by the socks-on-hardwood combo, and my feet slipped out from under me so quickly that they actually hit the underside of the bottom shelf of the bookcase next to me and I swear I was off the ground for a full half second.<\/p>\n<p>Then, of course, gravity took over and I slammed back into the ground, elbow first.\u00a0 Owww&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Still, the thing that continues to hurt the worst is the bruise on the side of my foot.\u00a0 I wish I had a video of the situation so I could analyze the physics&#8230;to get that kind of upward force on my foot, the pivoting around center of mass must have been awesome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;but traction really ain&#8217;t one of them.
